Medical Fraud-It's Not a Blank Check
Minor-impact-low-speed-rear-end-collisions are the most prolific cases Claims and SIU investigates. This type of claim has risen to epidemic proportions across the country. Many people feel that if they are rear-ended they are automatically entitled to a large Personal Injury Protection, Bodily Injury or Medical Payment settlement. Unscrupulous doctors and attorneys are making quite a handsome living just handling this type of case. At times they may employ people to help the situation along by staging an accident and/or otherwise causing accidents to occur. It becomes incumbent on the claims staff to recognize these fraudulent claims so they can be properly investigated and handled. This class will examine the different types of fraud related to these claims and the indicators that claim's personnel should be on the look out for.

Driving Organizational Change
Data analytics, benchmarking, process re-engineering -- all of these are great tools to help you decide if your business needs to make significant organizational change as well as the nature of the change that's required. So why do so many organizations fall back into their old habits after a brief fling with organizational change? In many cases, it's because the implementation of the new business processes and organization was ineffective: the perceived "flavor of the month" lived up to its advance billing. Come hear two veteran claims consulting experts discuss how to lead organizational change along with tips and techniques to make sure the change lasts over the long term. How do you motivate the rank and file to support the changes? What group is often the biggest hurdle to overcome in making necessary changes? How do you institutionalize the new processes? What do you do to prevent a return to old ways and bad habits? At the conclusion of the session, all participants should have a clear idea of the steps required in leading and driving lasting organizational change along with some ideas how to use these tools to create a better, more responsive claims organization.
